Where you sleep
changes the trip.
We do not sell a fixed list of hotels. We choose places for your route, your dates and the way you like to stay, then name every one in your quote so you can check it before you book.
Three ways
to stay.
Most trips use one level throughout, but you can mix them: a simpler hotel in Cairo and a special one on the Red Sea, for example.
Good 4-star
Clean, well-run hotels in good locations, and solid five-star cruise ships. The best choice if you plan to spend your days out.
4 to 5-star
More space, better views and better pools. Rooms facing the Nile or the pyramids where possible.
5-star and boutique
Historic palace hotels, dahabiyas, suites and the quietest resorts on the coast, where the hotel becomes part of the trip.
Choosing the area
matters as much.
Cairo
Near the pyramids, for an easy start at Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum. On the Nile in central Cairo or Zamalek, for the old city, restaurants and evening walks. On short trips we usually suggest the Giza side.
Luxor and Aswan
In Luxor, most hotels are on the east bank near the temples; a few quieter ones are on the west bank among the fields. In Aswan, a hotel on the river or on one of the islands makes the most of the views.
The Nile
Cruise ships range from large five-star vessels to small dahabiyas. See our Nile cruises page for the difference.
The Red Sea
Hurghada and Makadi Bay for families and choice; El Gouna and Soma Bay for something calmer; Marsa Alam for quiet and reefs; Sharm El Sheikh for Sinai and Ras Mohammed.
City, river
and sea.

About
where you stay.
Can we choose our own hotel?
Yes. If you have a hotel in mind, tell us and we will price it. If you have already booked one, we can plan the rest around it.
Do you show hotel prices on the website?
No. Rates change by date and availability, so we quote them for your trip rather than printing numbers that may be out of date.
Are Nile cruise ships rated like hotels?
Most ships we use are rated five-star by Egyptian standards. Standards vary between ships, which is why we name the ship in the quote.
Can we stay somewhere all-inclusive on the Red Sea?
Yes. Most Red Sea resorts offer all-inclusive, which often makes sense with children.
Tell us how
you like to stay.
Name a comfort level, or a hotel you already like, and we will build the rest of the trip around it.
