Cairo & Sharm Escape
Pyramids first, then the Red Sea.
Three nights in Cairo for the pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum and the old city, then a short flight to Sharm El Sheikh for reefs, sun and a slower finish.
How the days
usually unfold.
Two contrasting halves joined by a one-hour flight. No Nile and no early starts after day three.

Departure
Transfer to Sharm El Sheikh airport for your flight home or onward via Cairo.
A city break
and a beach holiday.
Some travellers want the pyramids and a proper rest, and do not have time for a Nile cruise as well. This route gives them both in one week. Three days in Cairo cover the essentials without hurrying, and a one-hour flight puts you on the Red Sea by lunchtime.
Sharm El Sheikh sits at the southern tip of the Sinai peninsula, where the mountains meet the sea. The reefs here, especially in Ras Mohammed National Park, are among the best in the Red Sea for snorkelling and diving. The hotels are large and well run, which suits families and anyone who wants everything in one place.
If you would like to see Luxor too, the trip stretches to nine or ten days with two nights there between Cairo and the coast.
What is included,
and what is not.
Every journey is private and priced for your dates. This is what a quote from us normally covers, and what we price or leave separately.
A few clear
answers first.
Can we fly home directly from Sharm El Sheikh?
Some airlines fly to Sharm from outside Egypt, but from South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana you will usually connect through Cairo. We plan the timing so the connection is comfortable.
Is the Mount Sinai sunrise climb included?
It is optional. The climb starts around 1am and takes about three hours, so many people prefer a daytime visit to St Catherine's Monastery instead.
Is Sharm El Sheikh good for non-swimmers?
Yes. Many hotels have sandy lagoons and pontoons, and glass-bottom boats let non-swimmers see the reef.
Could we choose Hurghada instead?
Yes, though from Cairo the flight to Sharm is usually more convenient. Hurghada works better if you are also visiting Luxor.
Compare it with
a different pace.
Not sure this is the right shape? These routes start from similar places but give the days a different balance.
