Why this route works

A shared story,
then the sea to yourselves.

A honeymoon in Egypt should feel like Egypt, not like any beach resort. But it should not feel like a school trip either. This route starts with the sights you will talk about for years and ends somewhere quiet, with very little on the schedule.

We give Aswan a night of its own before the cruise. It is the most relaxed town on the Nile, and a felucca at sunset there is one of those simple things couples remember. The cruise then takes you north past the temples to Luxor, where the balloon flight at dawn is usually the moment people mention when they come home.

For the last days we suggest a smaller hotel on a quieter part of the coast, such as El Gouna, Soma Bay or Marsa Alam. Tell us whether you picture a lively marina or an empty beach and we will choose accordingly.

Small touches

We can arrange a cake and flowers in your cabin, a private dinner on deck or by the pool, a couples' spa session, or an upgrade on one of the nights. Mention it in your brief; we keep surprises quiet if one of you is planning them.

Questions we hear about this route

A few clear
answers first.

Is the balloon flight safe?

Luxor balloon flights are licensed and inspected and fly only in suitable weather. Flights are sometimes cancelled at short notice for wind; if that happens, you are refunded or rebooked.

Can we have more time on the beach?

Yes. We can shorten Cairo or remove the Aswan night and add days on the coast.

Do Egyptian hotels ask for a marriage certificate?

Couples travelling on foreign passports are not normally asked for one. If either of you holds an Egyptian passport, tell us and we will check the hotel's policy.

When should we book?

Three to six months ahead for peak season, from October to April, especially if you want a particular cruise ship or a dahabiya.
